As our Summer Session draws to a close this morning, Colonel David L. Coggins, USMC (Ret.), the President of Fork Union Military Academy, had a few words of encouragement for the young men who are soon to depart campus:

Best wishes to our Summer School students in final exams this morning. Do your best! You've got this!

Thank you for selecting the Academy as the place to pursue your studies this summer. I'm sure your families will see that in just these past few weeks, you have undergone a number of changes. You're not just a bit older and a bit bigger, you have gained in knowledge, grown in discipline, have been inspired and transformed during your weeks here. You have developed in body, mind, and spirit.

Congratulations for all that you have accomplished this summer!

Now, work to sustain what you have gained.

It is my hope that you will enroll with us for the 2023-2024 school year and enjoy the sense of honor and brotherhood that comes with membership in the Fork Union Military Academy Corps of Cadets. There is a long 125-year legacy of tradition and pride that goes with wearing the uniform of a Fork Union cadet...and I'm sure we have one that will fit you perfectly for the fall.

Go FUMA!
