Fork Union Military Academy is proud to congratulate MAJ M. Gray Kendall on being named Teacher of the Term for Term 1 of the 2024-2025 academic year. At the end of each grading term, cadets nominate teachers, and these nominations are reviewed by the Teacher of the Term/Year Committee, composed of non-academic staff members. After evaluating the nominations, the Committee selects the Teacher of the Term.

MAJ Kendall joined the Academy in August 2022 as a teacher and coach. In addition to teaching, Kendall coaches soccer and sponsors the Scale Modelers Club. During Term 1, MAJ Kendall taught English 2.

The cadet nominations highlight MAJ Kendall’s positive influence:

• “He is funny, and he understands us. He teaches in a way we can fully grasp concepts. He makes us laugh while we learn.”
• “I am nominating him because he has taught me a lot of life lessons in a short period of time. He is wise, cares about us outside of school, and is very patient and easy to talk to.”
• “I wish to nominate MAJ Kendall for this award because they not only focused on Germany's beautiful language but also its society and history. MAJ Kendall also helps students individually, rather than just focusing on the group as a whole.”
