On Wednesday morning, the cadets, staff, and faculty of Fork Union Military Academy gathered at the flagpole for the annual See You at the Pole worldwide prayer event. Together, they prayed for God's grace and love to be present at our school, across our country, and throughout the world.

See You at the Pole began in 1990 with a small youth group in Burleson, Texas, and has since grown into a global movement. Every fourth Wednesday of September, students around the world unite in prayer. At Fork Union Military Academy, this event is led by members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), with participation open to all cadets, staff, and faculty.

The event holds special significance on our campus, as it is one of the few occasions when cadets are permitted on the grass of Fraley Circle.

Cadet Nicholas Coleman opened the gathering with a devotion and prayer, and the number of cadets who participated exceeded that of previous years. Our young men are growing into spiritual leaders, confident and courageous in their faith. Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsor MAJ Gary Leydig closed the gathering with prayer.

"It’s great to see the overall spiritual growth within the Corps," said Chaplain Ben Jamison. "I’m incredibly grateful to all of our on-campus volunteers like MAJ Leydig, and our local church partners who have invested in our young men. I also think the work of our current and former cadet chaplains like Jackson Pretus (Class of 2023) and Coleman has had a huge impact."

At Fork Union Military Academy, the Corps of Cadets attend chapel twice a week during the class day, as well as on Sundays. Cadets also have the option to attend local congregations, youth groups, and participate in weekly Bible studies organized by cadets and the FCA.
