Below are the dates for fall enrollment check-in. Keep in mind that August 22 is by invitation only. The Commandants Department distributes the invitations.
Before arriving to campus for any of the four check-in dates listed above, please make sure the following 8 items have been complete! Please log into FUMA's Parent Portal to complete items 1 through 7. Item 8 needs to be submitted in SchoolDocs.
Should you have any questions, please reach out to the Admission Office (434-842-4205 or admissions@fuma.org) or simply reply to this email.

Fork Union Military Academy's Infirmary uses SchoolDoc to manage the required annual health forms. Please make sure you have completed your health profile before arriving to campus. We will not be accepting paper forms at check-in.
Please note that the nurses will be reviewing all health forms when you arrive on campus to check-in. Any incomplete forms, especially those that require a healthcare provider signature, may delay the check-in process. Parents will be responsible for completing these items before they can leave their cadet on campus.
For all school and health related questions, please contact the Infirmary at 434-842-4310 or infirmary@fuma.org.
Ensuring we have this information now will better help our scheduling team set your son's academic schedule for the upcoming year. We cannot update our transcript information or finalize scheduling without an official transcript.
* Please click the following link to view a sample of an official transcript: Sample of an Official Transcript
The below documents are not acceptable official transcripts:
Please make sure the official transcript is signed, sealed, and has all complete information (grades and credits earned). The official document needs to come directly from the school your son attended last year. The official transcript should be physically mailed to FUMA.
If you have any questions regarding the transcript or need any further assistance, please contact our Admissions Office.
Fork Union Military Academy would like to request for your son to arrive on campus clean shaven and with a proper haircut. The regulation haircut for Fork Union Military Academy is:
Hair will be neat and closely trimmed. Hair will be kept 1 inch or less on top. The sides will be tapered/faded all the way around the head. No block lines and no temple tapers are allowed. Hard parts are not authorized.
If your son is unable to receive a haircut prior to check-in, we will arrange for him to see our barber on campus.
Federal guidelines require the use of a Real ID or Passport Card for domestic travel in 2023. The Academy is requiring all families to be compliant with this regulation beginning August 15, 2022, for the 2022-2023 Academy Year. For international travel, students will need to have their passport book.
You can find the link to our Academic Calendar for the 2022-2023 year here. Please refer to our calendar as you are planning for your cadet’s 2022-2023 year.
Should you have any questions regarding your son’s class options and graduation plan, please contact their respective academic scheduler:
All new cadets (boarding and day) will be required to purchase new uniform items. Used items will not be allowed. Fork Union Military Academy takes pride in the fact that the cadet uniforms are well-tailored and properly fitted. In the event an incorrect size is issued, the cadet should return the item to the Supply center promptly so it can be inspected and replaced. Should the parent have a question concerning the cadet’s clothing, do not hesitate to contact the Quartermaster.
Required Items for Uniform
All of the below (except athletic/casual shoes) may be purchased from the Supply Center and can be charged to your account should you choose not to bring them from home.

Recommended Items (Not Required)
Twin sheets, towels, washcloths, storage bins, and sharpies will now be issued from the Quartermaster with your uniforms. New cadets do not have to purchase those items prior to check-in.
We also encourage parents to leave their sons with plenty of snacks (granola bars, Gatorade, water bottles, etc.). Snacks like granola bars and chips can be stored in two of the four storage bins that the Quartermaster issues. The bins are about the size of a shoebox, so keep that in mind when buying your snacks. Any item on the above list can also be purchased at the Quartermaster on campus.
All of the items except for the handkerchiefs, cleaning supplies, Prepaid Visa Gift Cards, and Prepaid Calling Cards were issued from the Quartermaster to your cadet last year. If he does not have all of these items or if any of the uniforms are too small and cannot be altered, the Quartermaster will issue new ones to him on the day of check-in.
Returning cadets should bring last year's handkerchiefs, and storage bins with them to check-in or they can all be purchased again at the Quartermaster.

Your cadet will have a telephone in his room that he can use to stay connected with friends and family. He will need to purchase a calling card to dial out. We recommend purchasing this card or something similar.
To save time during check-in, the Quartermaster would like for you to send in your cadet's uniform measurements before arriving to campus. Please click the link below for information on how to take proper measurements for the FUMA uniform. You will need to email Seamstress Jessica Farmer at farmerj@fuma.org the following information:
